Radley Landgoed History & Operations
Radley Landgoed is a family farm in the Malelane Valley, established in 1943 when Will Radley purchased his first piece of land measuring 40 hectares. In the years that followed, Will added several additional parcels of land to the original farm, gradually expanding the size of the operation.
In these early years, the farm produced a wide variety of crops and products, including cattle, tomatoes, papayas, green beans, grain sorghum, sunflowers, rice, millet, bananas, citrus, and cotton. These years of diverse farming not only built valuable experience but also laid the foundation for future growth and specialisation.
When Henning Radley, Will’s son, took over the farm, Radley Landgoed entered a phase of significant growth and modernisation. Henning continued expanding the farm and purchased several adjacent properties, growing the total landholding to approximately 1,900 hectares.
Under his leadership, major investments were made in infrastructure:
Dams and canals were built and improved
Initially earth canals, later replaced with concrete canals to ensure better water security.
Storage facilities, roads, and packing facilities
Were constructed to support production processes.
Irrigation and pumping systems
Were modernised to ensure optimal water management.
Henning’s strategic focus on expansion, modernization, and sustainable production established the estate as a modern agricultural enterprise with strong infrastructure and production capacity.
Today, Radley Landgoed is managed by Henning Radley’s three sons – Wilscott, Rénald, and Henno – who continue the family legacy by combining traditional knowledge with modern farming practices.

With more than 80 years of experience, Will Radley laid the foundation and began the first expansions, Henning Radley further expanded and modernized the farm, and today the third generation – Wilscott, Rénald, and Henno – continues to manage and develop it further.
